Financial Education Resources |
The Carolinas Credit Union League is committed to improving the financial knowledge of credit union members and citizens. These resources can help. We help by sharing readily available programs and reinforcing them with our own time and effort. For more information on how the League can help your Credit Union begin or expand its Financial Education Program, please contact Jeff Hardin.
The Reality of MoneyThe Credit Union Development Educators (CUDEs) of the Carolinas combined forces over the past two years to develop the Reality of Money, an interactive, financial education simulation designed for students in grades 8-12. Students learn, as they participate, about the impact their choices make in their budget and lifestyle, as they are "transformed" into wage earning, bill paying and financially independent young adults. The Reality of Money is available for credit unions in NC to use free-of-charge (credit unions may choose to make a voluntary gift to the Carolinas CU Foundation in support of the activities of the Carolinas CUDE Network)."The CUDEs wanted to provide a powerful financial lesson available to as many students as possible,"said CCUL Director of Cooperative Initiatives Jeff Hardin. "The CUDEs have done a great job of developing a low-cost, easy-to-use tool that will help credit unions implement the Reality of Money in their local communities."
