Working in partnership with CUaware, the Carolinas Credit Union League is pleased to offer two exciting development opportunities for young professionals! The CUaware Protégé Competition offers young professionals an opportunity to increase their skill base in the area of communications (written and oral). For professionals at any age who are looking to expand their specific skill and knowledge base, the CUaware Mentor Program provides credit union professionals in the Carolinas an opportunity to be paired with a mentor from a league-affiliated credit union.
If you have questions about these programs, please contact Jeff Hardin (919-457-9063).
The CUaware Protégé Competition
The CUaware Protégé Competition is an opportunity for credit unions and chapters to: recognize the value and potential in rising professionals age 35 and under; enhance chapter programming and credit union interest; reinforce cooperative principles and credit union philosophy; and support CUaware and the league’s investment in developing leadership.

The CUaware Mentor program
The CUaware Mentor program connects credit union professionals with a mentor for a period of one year. Through a process that is collaboratively designed by the mentor and mentee, a plan and goals are developed, and a strategy for maintaining regular contact is created.
This multi-purposed approach to employee development allows for a cross-cultural impact, encouraging the acceptance of new ideas, personal growth, and development opportunities. It provides participants an opportunity to align goals and aspirations between mentors and mentees of credit unions engaged in CUaware.
