As part of its ongoing effort to support small credit unions, the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation is pleased to announce a special grant opportunity for credit unions with $50 million or less in assets. This grant, in partnership with the Carolinas Credit Union League, is funded courtesy of the Elizabeth N. and James V. Hamilton Fund and Summit Credit Union. It provides partial funding for professional coaching packages through the League’s TalentGuided program.

talentguided logoTalentGuided is a coaching program established by the League in 2019 to provide small credit unions with a compelling and individualized development opportunity. The League recognizes the tremendous benefits that internal and external coaching cultures can provide to credit unions, and it found through field research that such services are not readily available in the industry. The goal of TalentGuided is to fill this gap, connecting professionals seeking self-improvement with qualified coaches who will help them develop new competencies, qualities, and behaviors as leaders and team members.

“Coaching has provided tremendous value to many credit union employees in the Carolinas that have already participated in our TalentGuided service,” CCUL SVP of Professional Development Lauren DeAngelis shared. “Enhancing potential and gaining true clarity related to performance can be one of the many benefits to coaching. This opportunity for individual development will be well worth the investment, and it is all virtual!”

The Foundation’s application details two grant opportunities available, including:

  • Executive Coaching Package: $2,000 toward eight executive coaching sessions, with a remaining cost of $800 for your credit union. Executive coaching is an on-target, tailored, expedited, and effective way of boosting your leadership skills as a member of the C-suite at your organization.
  • Business Coaching Package: $1,000 toward eight business coaching sessions, with a remaining cost of $400 for your credit union. Business coaching is individually tailored to your needs. The process of having your expert “guide on the side” will help you—at any stage in your career—set better goals, reach your goals, make better decisions, and improve your relationships.

“The Carolinas Foundation wants to ensure professional development priorities are still met at each of our small credit unions, especially when budgetary and travel constraints in the current environment are limiting quality training,” Carolinas Credit Union Foundation President Lauren Whaley noted.

A total of $10,000 is allocated by the Elizabeth N. and James V. Hamilton Fund to cover grants for the TalentGuided coaching program for small credit unions with $50 million or less in assets. This is a special, one-time grant opportunity and will not count towards a qualifying credit union’s $1,250 professional development grant maximum provided by the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first served basis.
