Take the opportunity to celebrate credit unions and individuals who are giving back to our communities at the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation Awards Gala on February 1, 2018 in Charlotte, NC. Held in conjunction with the Carolinas Credit Union League’s Carolinas Credit Union Connect Conference, the gala is an affair you don’t want to miss.

“Not only will attendees celebrate and network with more than 150 credit union peers in the Carolinas, they will also experience a first-class event,” shared Lauren Whaley, Carolinas Credit Union Foundation president. “We wanted to highlight the amazing things credit unions are doing in their local communities and honor those in the industry that exemplify the credit union movement all while ensuring a fun evening.”
The Carolinas Foundation is excited to announce that Kyle Petty will be performing a few songs during the evening’s awards ceremony. Petty is already well known for his connection to Victory Junction but most are unaware that the former racecar driver turned racing analyst has always carried a passion for music.
By the age of 12, Petty received his first guitar from a traveling preacher at the racetrack, and by high school, was writing his own music. His creative influences include country artists like Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard, and singer-songwriters Carole King, James Taylor, Harry Chapin, and Jim Croce. Throughout the ’80s, Kyle was an opening act for various bands, and now enjoys open-mic night at the Evening Muse in Charlotte, where he resides with his wife Morgan.
“The Foundation is honored to have Kyle join us for a performance of his favorite songs,” said Whaley.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available to credit unions and business partners for the Foundation’s Awards Gala. For more information about becoming a sponsor, visit the Connect website here. To purchase an individual ticket to the gala, click here.
All proceeds for this event will go towards the Foundation’s exclusive partnership with Victory Junction for its Reach Program.
