League to host 2020 Annual Meeting, Business Session virtually
Thursday, June 11, 2020
The Carolinas Credit Union League’s 2020 Annual Meeting, previously rescheduled for Aug. 30 – Sept. 1, 2020 at the Marriott Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach, SC will now be hosted as a virtual conference. This difficult decision comes following discussions with the League Board of Directors and survey feedback from 60% of member credit union CEOs on whether and how to host this year’s event.
“Many of our members have told us that they are ready and want to reconnect with their credit union peers at in-person meetings,” CCUL President and CEO Dan Schline shared. “However, it was also clear from our survey results that there is too much uncertainty regarding the Coronavirus and state of public health at the end of August to proceed with a conference as large scale as our Annual Meeting.”
The date for the 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting is August 31 – September 1, 2020. Day one will feature a revamped lineup of speakers and interactive sessions, and day two will focus on the CCUL Business Session which includes board elections.
“We know credit unions value the opportunity to network and learn at the League’s Annual Meeting each year,” Schline continued. “Our team is excited about bringing credit unions a fun and interactive opportunity to learn and engage with each other – virtually!”
The cancellation process for the in-person conference is underway. Credit union professionals currently registered for the conference will receive notices of cancellation and full refunds. Rooms booked under the League room block will be automatically cancelled by the hotel. Registrants who booked outside the room block are urged call the hotel at 800-228-9290 to request a cancellation at least seven days prior to scheduled arrival.
The League will be sharing more details in the coming weeks on the virtual Annual Meeting agenda and registration. For questions, please contact CCUL Development at email@example.com.
