The Carolinas Credit Union Foundation opens it scholarship cycle to credit union members each year on October 1st with a deadline for an online application submission of February 1st.
With the strong support of credit unions in 2019 in the Community Investment Fund, the Foundation was able to increase the number of selected winners from 20 to 30 for academic and needs-based $1,000 scholarships, and from four to six for community college/tech school $500 scholarships. Any credit union member in North or South Carolina with a non-weighted GPA of 3.0 or higher is eligible to apply and more than 800 applications were submitted to the Foundation’s online application portal for this cycle.
A credit union member may also be eligible for scholarships from individual credit unions who have their own scholarship fund with the Carolinas Foundation. More than $250,000 is awarded each year in scholarships from credit union scholarship funds.
