CUNA opens registration for 2019 Young Professionals Advocacy Workshop
Monday, May 6, 2019
Credit Union National Association (CUNA) will host its third annual Young Professionals Advocacy Workshop in September. This workshop is aimed to educate the next generation of leaders — both new and seasoned advocates in the credit union movement. The full-day program will feature outside speakers, a congressional staff panel, and updates from CUNA and League personnel. A variety of topics will be covered including an overview of CUNA’s political program, the role credit union professionals play in advocacy, hill visit preparation, and networking opportunities.
Last year, Heritage Trust FCU's Dustin Haynes represented the Carolinas at the Young Professionals Advocacy Workshop and recapped his experience in a feature post.
"Overall, this experience helped me sharpen my communication skills, while also providing insight about the tools and resources available to help me improve engagement with credit union members, elected officials, and my community," said Haynes. "I highly recommend the CUNA Young Professional Advocacy Workshop... to anyone who wants to get involved in the credit union movement."
