2019 Financial Literacy Day in SC set for April 9; volunteers needed
Monday, March 4, 2019
In recognition of April’s designation as Financial Literacy Month, the Carolinas Credit Union League will once again host our Financial Literacy Day event at the state house.
The annual event brings volunteers from South Carolina credit unions together for a Reality of Money event with area high school students. This event is a simulation of real-life decision-making for young people getting their first job, house, car, and possibly integrating these activities with starting a family. Students are assigned specific roles and respond to life situations over a 1- to 2-hour simulation.
Volunteers are needed to work the “Life Stations” that simulate work, shopping, medical, etc. A press conference (tentatively scheduled for 11:45 a.m.) will be held at the conclusion of the event.
This has become a great event, and we hope your credit union can participate!
