Travis Hall assumes president/CEO position at SC National Guard FCU
Wednesday, February 6, 2019
After 28 years of service at South Carolina National Guard Federal Credit Union (SCNG FCU), President/CEO Randall Robinson retired January 2019. Succeeding that position is Travis Hall, who just celebrated his five-year mark at the credit union.
For 10 years, Hall worked at Cantey, Tiller, Pierce and Green assisting credit unions with audits. During that time he developed an appreciation for credit union culture and in 2014 had the opportunity to be a part of it when he accepted the CFO position at SCNG FCU.
In early 2017, Robinson promoted Hall to senior vice president with the vision that he would take over as president/CEO. In 2018, the SCNG FCU Board of Directors officially selected Hall to serve as the credit union’s leader. Robinson and Hall worked together to gradually shift responsibilities for a smooth transition.
“I am fortunate to have the opportunity to take over a strong credit union, so I am trying to balance that ‘if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it’ mentality with knowing that we must be willing to adapt on an ongoing basis to remain relevant,” Hall said.
He also noted that offering greater convenience and accessibility to members, despite having only two branches, and enhancing their focus on cybersecurity and protecting members’ information are among his key priorities.
As for his leadership style, Hall explained, “I take a situational approach to leadership. Not all situations have the same players or carry the same benefits and consequences, so I try to avoid a one-size-fits-all approach. When balanced appropriately, this generates buy-in from the staff and allows other leaders in the organization to develop without compromising my role as the leader.”
But Hall isn't all work and no play. When he has time out of the office, he enjoys afternoons on the golf course, attending concerts, and simply spending time with family and friends.
Join us in congratulating SCNG FCU's new President/CEO Travis Hall!
