The Piedmont Chapter of Credit Unions is partnering with the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation and Victory Junction’s Reach Program to bring camp experiences to children at Levine’s Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Families at the local Ronald McDonald House will also benefit on this day of giving from area credit union volunteers. The “CU Give Back Day” is slated for Thursday, August 16, 2018 and nearly 50 volunteer slots are available.

“We are excited to offer an opportunity to spend a day giving back to our community alongside our fellow credit union professionals,” exclaims Piedmont Chapter President Carl Clark.

Through the Reach program, Victory Junction will provide “carnival” games and activities in the Levine Children’s Hospital playroom for the patients. Two volunteer shifts are available. The Levine Reach Carnival is the fourth large-scale event organized by the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation. Other very successful Reach Carnivals have been held in Greenville, SC, Charleston, SC and most recently in Winston-Salem, NC.

“The Foundation is excited to partner with the Levine Children’s Hospital once again,” said Carolinas Foundation President Lauren Whaley as she recalls the successful $300,000 renovation project for the Levine Rooftop Garden Playground that area credit unions funded in 2012. “Giving back is a core value of credit unions and aligns with our cooperative philosophy of people helping people. This CU Give Back Day provides an opportunity for credit unions to cultivate new and lasting relationships in their communities.”

The Ronald McDonald House volunteer opportunities will be centered on making the house welcoming to guests and more than 25 volunteer slots are available between the hours of 1-3 pm.

Details on all of the volunteer needs are included below. Dress is casual and volunteers are asked to wear the green Reach t-shirts which can be purchased in advance for $10/each through the Foundation.
