In-Person Event

Join your fellow participants in the CUaware Protégé Mentor Program for a fun day of learning and networking!  The agenda includes sessions on Leading by Example, Communicating with Intention, and How to Provide and Receive Feedback.  In addition to the robust learning track, expect formal and informal networking opportunities.  Lunch is included!  Please contact Jeff Hardin with questions.

Leading by Example: Inspiring Greatness in Others

This humorous and provocative session is full of practical tools that empower professionals to lead differently and inspire others. Learn how to stay positive, productive, and effective no matter the circumstances, and explore the impact this skill has on business and organizational culture. Identify the pitfalls of a victim mentality, and increase one’s personal resiliency. In this engaging and fast-paced session you will explore the impact of your leadership role regardless of title.After participating in this session, participants will be able to:

1. Inspire others. Lead by example.

2. Explore the impact of a positive mindset, and the consequences of victim thinking.

3. Develop the resiliency that inspires others to move through adversity.

Giving & Receiving the Gift of Feedback

Who dreads feedback more - the person giving it, or the one receiving it? This session explores the top barriers to giving effective feedback and the methods to help align that feedback with a sense of values. Learn to deliver feedback that gets results! This session also helps you identify the top three reasons we fail to understand the value from the feedback we receive. Overcome those failures and enhance your ability to be a great leader. We will practice receiving feedback successfully and prepare for future feedback interactions.After participating in this session, participants will be able to:

1. Practice receiving feedback and seeing it as a gift for growth and development.

2. Identify the personal barriers that prevent giving feedback to others. Develop methods to deliver more effective feedback.

3. Align feedback that we give to others with a sense of care, responsibility, and respect.
