By the end of this year, the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation (CCUF) will have completed our $600,000 commitment to the two Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in Charlotte, N.C. and Greenville, S.C., and we’re now seeking ideas from you on the next project to support!
Ever wonder how the CCUF gets involved in the projects that we do?
Steve Elam, the Foundation’s first executive director, saw the connection between NASCAR and credit unions, and started us on our 10-plus year journey with Victory Junction Camp. And the children’s hospital project came about as the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) sought to carry out a community leave-behind project in conjunction with the Democratic National Convention (DNC), hosted in Charlotte in 2012. Because the Foundation is a two-state organization, the board wanted to ensure that we not only completed the Charlotte initiative but also did a similar project for a hospital in South Carolina.
So, where do we go from here?
The Foundation is already looking at several possibilities and the board is ready to sit down in October to review the different options. But, we don’t want to leave any great ideas behind.
The vision of the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation is to enrich the lives of children in the Carolinas. So, we want to know: Are you aware of an organization with plans for a special project or fundraising campaign that’s in need of a concentrated amount of monetary and/or volunteer resources that fits the CCUF vision? If so, please contact John McGrail at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 704-305-7587. Your idea could be our next two-state focused project!
