MYRTLE BEACH, SC (5/29/14)—The inaugural Carolinas Credit Union League Annual Meeting—which brings together nearly 500 participants and guests for three days of networking, professional development, and more—officially kicks off today.

Registration opens at 1:00 p.m. followed by a welcome reception in the exhibit hall, where more than 70 vendors are stationed. CUNA Mutual Group’s Carolinas Cup, held jointly with the conference, will wrap-up its fundraising events this evening with a silent/live auction. Net proceeds from the golf championship between North Carolina and South Carolina will support the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation and the Victory Junction Gang Camp.

Then on Friday, CCUL President/CEO John Radebaugh will officially welcome attendees to the conference, followed by general session presentations from Vince Papale, Elisabeth Leamy, Jason Dias, Mark Arnold, and Lt. Col. Robert Darling. The evening will close with the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation’s Awards Gala featuring NCUF Executive Director Gigi Hyland as guest speaker.

During the conference, CCUL also will hold its first annual business meeting on Saturday. Prior to the CCUL Business Meeting, National Journal’s  Ron Fournier will speak on current political affairs.

The weather in Myrtle Beach is expected to be warm, with highs in the mid-80s and periods of clouds and sunshine followed by a shower or thunderstorm throughout the weekend.

Highlights from the CCUL Annual Meeting will be shared live on Twitter and Facebook using the hashtag #CCUL2014.
