Since introducing the Carolinas Credit Union League’s advocacy, communications, and compliance teams earlier this year (see “Introducing CCUL” series), the league has hired three new employees to enhance its service offerings to member credit unions.
Starting earlier this week, Meg Backwinkel joined the CCUL Public Relations and Communications team as communications specialist. Her role will focus on writing, e-communications, and web administration.
By early May, she’ll be a University of South Carolina graduate with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications. Prior to joining the league, Meg completed two communications internships with the March of Dimes and the South Carolina Small Business Chamber of Commerce.
Susanna Hailey joined the league in January 2014 and serves in the CCUL Governmental Affairs Department as political and grassroots specialist. She works out of the North Carolina office and her role includes administering PAC reporting, coordinating and executing grassroots initiatives, and organizing political events and meetings.
Susanna is a recent graduate of Wake Forest University with a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and International Affairs. She is passionate about the field of politics and is excited for the opportunity to build a career with the league.
Based in the South Carolina office, Trichina (TH) Pierce joined the league in March 2014 and serves as compliance analyst. In her role, she works closely with member credit unions to help them meet a wide range of compliance needs, delivers compliance training, and supports departmental projects.
Trichina is a member of the S.C. Bar Association and has a Juris Doctor (JD) from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, an LLM from Stetson University Law School, and a master's degree from Capella University.
