CCUL at GAC: Hill meetings wrap up busy week
Thursday, March 6, 2014
With approximately 100 credit union advocates attending the 2014 CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference last week, well-rounded teams from each state took to Capitol Hill for meetings throughout Wednesday, February 26. The meetings marked the apex of the four-day conference, which enjoyed record attendance of nearly 4,500.
North Carolina's credit union champions started early, enjoying "Carolina Coffee" with US Senator Kay Hagan (D-NC) before dividing among three teams for appointments that extended into the late afternoon, ending with longtime credit union friend and US Representative Howard Coble (R, NC-6).
Meanwhile, the South Carolina contingent gathered in a Capitol Visitor Center meeting room where they hosted visits by delegation members, beginning with US Representative Mick Mulvaney (R, SC-6) and wrapping up with Brianna Hill from the office of US Representative Tom Rice (R, SC-7).
