New management council (MACCU) invites membership, conference registration

Accompanying the new year and new Carolinas Credit Union League is the newly-formed Management Association of Carolinas Credit Unions (MACCU) to further educate credit union leaders from North Carolina and South Carolina credit unions. Its first action: inviting online membership signups and registration for its March 27-28 MACCU Conference in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Development of the organization began in September 2013 with agreement by the NC CUES Council and SC Credit Union Management Association members to form a transition team. That team, which met on December 10, 2013 to discuss how the two groups could unite to better serve the credit unions in both Carolinas, consists of four credit union professionals from each state:

Susan Allison (SAFE FCU) Sue Douglas (State Empls CU)
Alan Berry (Greenville Heritage FCU) Tyler Duke (Premier FCU)
Dan Berry (Duke University FCU) Steve Wichmann (Heritage Trust FCU)
Bob Donley (Members CU) Sharon Wolf (G'ville Gas Turbine Empls FCU)

Now a single entity, MACCU will host two meetings per year—one in each state—with an agenda focused on industry hot topics and common concerns of credit union senior management teams throughout the Carolinas. The transition team encourages all credit unions to support MACCU and its effectiveness as a tool for peer leaders.

Membership in MACCU is open to CEOs and management from credit unions with physical branches in either state. A single employee membership is $100, and additional employee memberships from the same credit union are just $75 each. Also, MACCU members enjoy a reduced-rate participant fee for MACCU events.
