SUMTER, SC – SAFE Federal Credit Union has opened a brand new state-of-the art 4,952 square foot facility on Lewis Road featuring a wide array of services for the members in Sumter County.

"This is SAFE’s fifth branch in Sumter County,” said President/CEO Beverly Gagne. "We are excited to be a part of the growth taking place in the area. We hope this new facility will provide speed and convenience for many of our members living in the area and accommodate the financial needs of individuals working in the industrial park and in other businesses along the Highway 15 corridor.”

With six drive-up stations, six inside teller stations, two member representatives, a drive-up ATM, safe deposit box service and a coin machine, SAFE is sure that members will enjoy the new branch.

The expansion of services at the Lewis Road branch represents SAFE’s commitment to Sumter County. Branch manager Jay Montgomery, who previously managed the Bishopville branch, said "I am excited about the new facility and the services now available for SAFE members. Our goal is to save our members money while providing what they need in financial service assistance.”

SAFE was organized in 1955 at Shaw AFB. Currently we are one of the state’s largest credit unions with over 107,000 members, 18 branches and 2 in-school facilities, serving eight counties. SAFE has $848 million in assets, and 281 employees.
