Board representatives from Chapters and CUaware Councils in the Carolinas are invited to attend a workshop in Myrtle Beach April 10-11. The event will focus on networking, sharing best practices and generating out-of-the-box ideas for future chapter meetings and events.
The Chapter Leaders' Workshop takes place at the Embassy Suites Kingston Plantation just prior to Spring MACCU. "We'll kick the event off with a reception Tuesday evening," said Jeff Hardin, CCUL director of cooperative initiatives. "It will be a great way to bring people together in a relaxed environment, and set the stage for a day of teamwork and learning on Wednesday."
Wednesday's sessions include a presentation by Brian McKay, president of the Upstate Chapter, who will discuss the chapter's strategic focus and direction. McKay and the Upstate Chapter board surveyed credit union staff and CEOs about their perceptions of the chapter's value, and barriers to attendance.
"Brian's presentation will kick off an interactive day of sharing best practices and ideas from our chapter leaders, and include a fun brainstorming session that will give chapter leaders some topic ideas and event suggestions to take back home," said Hardin.
The workshop is open to active board members at any Chapter or CUaware Council in North Carolina and South Carolina. The tuition is just $40 plus one nights' lodging. For more information or if you would like to attend, please contact Jeff Hardin (919-457-9063).
