Volunteer spots still available for “Reach Carnival Day” in Charleston, SC
The Lowcountry CUaware Chapter of Credit Unions is partnering with the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation and Victory Junction’s Reach Program to bring camp experiences to children at MUSC’s Children’s Hospital and to families at Charleston’s Ronald McDonald House.
Set for Wednesday, August 9, 2017, the “Reach Carnival Day” is the second large-scale event organized by the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation, with the first successful event held at the Greenville Children’s Hospital on April 20, 2017. Through the Reach program, Victory Junction will provide “carnival” games and activities in all of the hospital playrooms for the patients and in the Ronald McDonald House for families.
The Carolinas Foundation and Lowcountry Chapter needs more than 50 credit union volunteers to help make this day of giving back to the community a success!
In a recent email invitation to credit unions in the Charleston area, Lowcountry Chapter President Stephanie Watson of SC Federal Credit Union expressed her excitement about this giveback project, noting: “just as cooperatives are centered on people helping people, we're also neighbors deeply involved in the communities we serve. We’re thrilled to offer an opportunity to spend a day out of the office, giving back and getting to know fellow credit union professionals.”
