Final Senate vote for S. 337 expected this week

Last week, S. 337, which updates the SC Credit Union Act, cleared several legislative hurdles. On Wednesday, the full Senate voted to adopt the League-supported amendment language that was approved by the Senate Banking and Insurance Committee. The next day, the Senate unanimously adopted the bill on second reading. The bill is expected to receive a final Senate vote tomorrow, March 13.

Anything can happen during the legislative process, but the League is optimistic that the bill will clear the Senate and enter the House process. More information will be shared as available.

Debate continues on S. 2155, vote expected this week

Last Wednesday, March 6 the Senate voted to proceed with formal debate on the bipartisan, CUNA-supported S. 2155, Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief and Consumer Protection Act. With over 143 filed amendments, this process has been tedious.

The Senate is expected to invoke cloture this afternoon with a vote later this week.
