CUaware Protégé Competition

Home  |  Meet the Finalists  |  Leadership Conference  |  FAQ  |   About CUaware

The Carolinas Credit Union League and the CUaware Leadership Council are excited to announce the continuation of SC’s young professional contest, formerly known as the Palmetto Protégé Competition.

Now expanding across both states and under the leadership of CUaware, the new name of this program is the CUaware Protégé Competition!

PURPOSE

The CUaware Protégé Competition is an opportunity for credit unions and chapters to: recognize the value and potential in rising professionals age 35 and under; enhance chapter programming and credit union interest; reinforce cooperative principles and credit union philosophy; and support CUaware and the league’s investment in developing leadership.

Help us spread the word!

Download any of the following materials to use in your communications at chapter meetings or credit union functions. Some of the PDF files are customized so chapters can set individual deadlines.

PURSUE

Reminder: One (1) nominee per league-affiliated credit union can go on to compete in the chapter-level competition! All chapter participants will complete a standard examination and give a five-minute oral presentation from a range of available topics. Then one (1) winner from each chapter will go on to compete at the CCUL Leadership Conference for the title of 2014 CUaware Protégé!

PAST PROTÉGÉS

Will Crosswell | 2013 Protégé
“This whole experience has truly been a blessing for me. The connections I’ve made, not only throughout the state, but across the nation have been both educational and motivational. Having the opportunity to learn from leaders in the movement continues to be one of the best rewards I have received since becoming Protégé last year. Being a part of the Protégé competition will not only provide you with the avenues to learn and grow in this industry, but with the tools to become a better leader within your own credit union and local community.”
Dizzy Felkel | 2012 Protégé
“This competition was a life-changing and career-defining experience. By winning in 2012, I was able to attend the SE CUNA Management School (graduating in June), where I learned a great deal and built long-lasting relationships. Attending SRCUS also encouraged me to pursue my MBA at North Greenville University. Three years ago, I had no intention of completing any of these things. This program afforded me both the opportunity and confidence to better myself. Participating in this program can impact your career in ways you've yet to imagine.”
