Barbara Lehew is director of meetings and conferences at the Carolinas Credit Union League. She has spent her entire adult life in the financial arena and the past twenty-three years within the credit union movement, having come to the league in 2002 from SC State Federal Credit Union. Her experience in various roles within financial institutions is invaluable in her understanding of daily life within them and the needs that result.
Barbara works with the Professional Development team to create educational events for credit union employees and management teams. Much of what she does in negotiating contracts, securing venues and speakers, and refining event agendas may go unnoticed but is reflected in the value participants attribute to their experiences. Barbara also has been praised for her delivery of quality teller training.
Lauren DeAngelis has been director of professional development since 2011 and in the transformation is sharpening her focus on development consultation with credit unions. In that role, she will work with human resources and training contacts to design programs that meet specific needs of credit union staff and volunteers. The first stage includes a series of visits with credit unions beginning the week of February 10.
Lauren has more than twenty-five years of experience in financial services, most recently in development of more than 250 sales executives at Sallie Mae. Having led the charge with a team of forty, she has keen insight into staffing, operations, and development and is well positioned to help credit unions address challenges and find solutions to ensure success within today's competitive culture. Lauren has extensive experience in training, event and project management, customer service, and sales, and she is a member of the Association for Training & Development.
June Ballentine is conference coordinator for CCUL Professional Development. In that role, she helps the team create and organize educational events, building and sorting participant materials, coordinating logistics and vendor relationships, and establishing a high-quality on-site presence. Day to day, June also processes online registrations, invoicing, and payment verification and supports department needs for information and other references.
June joined the league in 2011, having previously worked in the telephone industry. From that she adds experience in governmental and public affairs to the expertise she applies each day for CCUL.
